Enter my book giveaway in The Literary Blog Hop

literarybloghop_februaryBooks Can Save a Life is two years old this month, and to celebrate I’m participating in The Literary Giveaway Blog Hop.

Over 40 blogs are part of the hop, which is the mastermind of Judith who blogs at Leeswammes’ Blog in the Netherlands.

Between now and Wednesday, February 12, you can hop to over 40 different book blogs, all offering one or more giveaways of books or bookish items. All books will be literary (non)fiction or something close to that. Follow the links at the bottom of this post to find the other participating blogs.

  1. I read a lovely autobiography to a client – The Man in the White Sharkskin Suit by Lucette Lagnado. She was born in Cairo in the mid/late 50s tinto a Syrian/Egyptian Jewish family. Wonderful images of Cairo in the 50s and stories of her grandparents and her sweet relationship with her father. They had to leave Egypt in the early 60s and emigrated to Brooklyn. I hated for it to end.

  2. The last book I read that I really like was called “Back when we were Grown-Ups” by Anne Tyler. It was a great book. aprilk01(at)yahoo(dot)com

  3. I am very happy to be finding all these great contests as well as a huge number of blogs that are all new to me like yours. I am very interested in mental health genetics, so your other posts caught my eye!

To answer your question, I’ll have to say Eleanor Catton’s magnus opus *The Luminaries*; I was blown away…thanks for this opportunity…

  4. Dreams of Joy by Lisa See is a book you will not forget, it is the best I have read and learned so much.
It is about the Great Forward in China, that took place in 1959. It is based on true history.

  5. I loved The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. And last winter, I read the entire series of Little House on the Prairie books. How did I manage to miss them when growing up? They’re wonderful.

  6. The last best book I’ve read? Easy: Burial Rites by Hannah Kent. Brilliant! Thank you for the opportunity to win more books! melissa (at) azcommpro (dot) com. Nice to “meet” you!

  7. Thanks for the giveaway – I’ve loved reading through your blog! One of the best books I have recently read is Good Bones and Simple Murders by Margaret Atwood. Love her, and this is a great collection of short stories!

  8. The last very best books I read were Stephen King’s Dr. Sleep, NOS4A2 by Joe Hill, and Anne Bishop’s Written in Red. They were tied for last year’s favorite. Nothing has come close this year. Yet. I’ve followed you all three ways. I agree that books can save lives; mine is testament to that. michelle_willms at yahoo dot com.

  9. One of my favorite authors is Alice Hoffman and I loved her book The Dovekeepers the most. I also read The Book Thief last year and loved it too (not sure if either of these books fall into the literary category though)
    Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  11. I’m glad I’ve discovered your blog! It may not be the last best book I’ve read, but I can’t recommend Dog Boy by Eva Hornung enough. Thanks for the chance to win a book.

  12. 2 years?? Are you kidding me? I’m in a Fannie Flagg marathon. In the middle of “Can’t Wait To Get To Heaven”. Just finished “Standing in the Rainbow” and “The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.

  13. I’m in the middle of multiple books right now, but my last completed novel was Once We Were Brothers. I could not put that book down. Thank you for the giveaway!
